X2Order Inc. was founded in 2008. Its purpose is to re-focus mature software solutions developed by two predecessor companies; Optim LLC, and Saros Inc., both co-owned and managed by an X2Order Founder.

The basis for ForeSight was invented at Optim in 1994. It subsequently was enhanced and commercialized by Saros. Optim's version of the product first was released in 1995 as a client-server application. That version was adopted by eight manufacturers, all of which still use it today.

Saros was formed in 2002 as a successor to Optim. Saros transformed the client-server solution into a web-based application framework that first was released in 2003. The firm leveraged the framework to support a successful technology solutions consulting practice. There are nearly 60 US clients using various versions of the software framework, customized and implemented by Saros to satisfy specific client requirements.

Rights to the framework are now the property of X2Order. The framework has been used to develop ForeSight, and is the basis for future versions of the product.
